Your 90 second Cortisol Reset is here.
Welcome.
You don't need a 30-minute meditation. You need a 90-second nervous system hack that works between Zoom calls.

WHY CORTISOL HITS DIFFERENTLY NOW
Oestrogen and progesterone buffer your stress response. In perimenopause they fluctuate erratically before they decline. When they become unreliable, your HPA axis becomes more reactive.
Cortisol spikes faster, peaks higher, and clears more slowly than it did in your thirties. Progesterone binds the same brain receptors as anti-anxiety medication. When it drops, that natural calming mechanism goes with it.
When cortisol is elevated, your brain scans for the fastest route to dopamine and serotonin. Carbohydrate-dense, high-fat food delivers both quickly. The 9pm fridge is physiology. Not weakness.
HOW THE RESET WORKS
-
Extended exhale activates the vagus nerve — the main highway of the parasympathetic system. Cortisol begins to clear within 2 to 3 breath cycles.
-
A physical anchor re-engages the prefrontal cortex, which is suppressed when cortisol is high. Decision-making capacity comes back online.
-
90 seconds is enough for measurable parasympathetic activation. You do not need to feel calm first. The physiology creates the calm.
THE PROTOCOL
-
Press feet flat, back into chair, or hold something solid. Feel it.
-
In through your nose. Slow. Four counts.
-
Out through your mouth. Longer than the inhale. Six to eight counts.
-
Five cycles. Stay with your anchor. That is your 90 seconds.
-
10% less reactive is enough to make a different choice.
Three Moments To Use It
Three Moments To Use It
MOMENT ONE
The meeting-to-home transition
In the car before you drive. Outside your door before you go in. Creates a physiological transition so cortisol does not run your evening.
MOMENT TWO
The 9pm fridge moment
Before you open the door. Feet flat. Five cycles. Then decide. You will choose from a different neurological state.
MOMENT THREE
The 2am wake
Do not reach for your phone. Back flat into mattress as anchor. Five breath cycles. Signal: not on alert right now.
